BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

ANALYSIS: After a slow start to the season, Curtis Granderson looks like he may never stop hitting home runs. The 36-year-old has blasted four in his last six games, giving him 12 on the year to go along with 32 RBI, 38 runs scored, three steals and a .235 batting average. The batting average certainly leaves a lot to be desired, but Granderson has never been a high average hitter, and as long as his walk-rate holds steady at around 11% he will hold nice value in OBP leagues. Granderson has hit 19 or more home runs in 10 of the last eleven years and looks poised to repeat that yet again this year. The three steals is a nice bonus from a 36-year-old who only had four last year in 150 games played. If Granderson can get closer to the 11 steals he had in 2015, fantasy owners could be getting a 25HR/10SB contributor.
The biggest unknown for Granderson at this point is where he will be playing the second half of the season. The Mets seem likely to trade the veteran. If he ends up in a smaller park with a better lineup around him, there is a chance his value could come up even more. Fantasy owners would be wise to keep an eye on the trade market for outfielders as the end of July draws near.
Regardless, Granderson’s performance for the rest of the season should merit him a roster spot in all 12-team formats and beyond.
