BALLER MOVE: Add in 12 and 14-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 39% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The Buccaneers and Dolphins aren’t playing Week 1, so if you’re a Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, Jarvis Landry or DeVante Parker owner, you may be looking for a short-term replacement. Who better to turn to for potential production than a No. 1 wide receiver who is owned in less than 40 percent of leagues?
Robby Anderson became more involved in the Jets’ offense throughout the second half of 2016, and figures to be the primary weapon in the passing game this season, with both Quincy Enunwa and Devin Smith shelved on injured reserve. The 24-year-old was targeted 39 times over his last five games played, and should continue to see at least that kind of heavy volume to start 2017.
Even with Josh McCown under center, Anderson has some appeal against a Bills secondary that allowed a whopping 12.5 yards per reception last season and lost its two top cornerbacks — Stephon Gilmore and Ronald Darby — in the offseason. Someone will have to catch passes for the Jets, and Anderson can be a worthy Week 1 fill-in, and throughout the season, particularly in deeper PPR leagues.
