7 years agoUpdating a previous report, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that there is “no deal” and that rumors of Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Gerrit Cole being traded to the Astros is a “false rumor.” The story has been ongoing, as it was previously reported from multiple sources that a deal was done. Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle spoke to Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow following the news there was a trade, and Luhnow said he has “talked to several teams about possible trades.” A trade could still happen, but for now Cole remains with the Pirates. In addition to the Astros, the Yankees have been heavily linked to Cole.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
