7 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds are targeting free-agent relief pitcher David Hernandez as they look to fortify their bullpen behind closer Raisel Iglesias, according to sources. The Reds and Hernandez aren't close to a deal, but they are involved in serious discussions. Cincinnati is looking at other free-agent relievers, too. After having Tommy John surgery and missing all of 2014, Hernandez has bounced back the last two years and posted a 3.11 ERA with the Angels and Diamondbacks. Hernandez wouldn't be the closer in Cincinnati, but he'd definitely strengthen their bullpen. The addition of a cut fastball last year may have been the reason why Hernandez was even more effective, and it's known that he's looking for a multi-year deal.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
