7 years agoJerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports that the San Francisco Giants "have had an active dialogue with Lorenzo Cain of late, and that’s not likely to change" despite the team acquiring outfielder Andrew McCutchen. Crasnick also notes that the Giants would prefer to play McCutchen as a corner outfielder versus in center field. The Giants have been more open of late to giving up draft-pick compensation should the right situation arise. If the Giants can land Cain, they would lose compensation but fill a major need. The Giants have a lot of money committed to the 2018 roster, so they likely would only move forward with Cain if his price and years drop. The Giants have also been mentioned as a possible trade partner for Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton. Aside from the Giants, the Cubs, Brewers and Rangers have all shown interest in Cain.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
