7 years agoFree-agent outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, now 44 years old, might be willing to finish his career in Japan. He hasn't had any success on the free-agent market despite 3,080 career hits. The future first-ballot Hall of Famer has had extensive talks with the Mariners and Padres, but both teams have moved on. The free-agent market for outfielders has been sluggish, though, and there are still some big names on the market, which could be hurting Suzuki's chances of finding a team. Suzuki played in 136 games as a reserve outfielder for Miami in 2017, but he made just 23 starts and hit .255 with 27 pinch hits. If Ichiro does find a team to take him, it'll most likely be on a minor league deal with incentives at his age. He won't be fantasy relevant if he makes it back to the big leagues in 2018.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
