Boston's Reported Offer To J.D. Martinez Not Correct
7 years agoThe Boston Red Sox's reported offer of five years and $100 million to free-agent outfielder J.D. Martinez is "not accurate," according to his agent, Scott Boras. Martinez and Boras were said to be looking for a deal close to $200 million at the beginning of free agency, and while the free-agent market has been especially slow to develop, Martinez should definitely be able to do way better than five years and $100 million from Boston. Martinez is reportedly willing to wait until after spring training starts to sign a contract. He's by far the best outfielder available on the open market and will be an early-round fantasy target no matter where he lands.
