Todd Haley, Jeremy Bates In Running For Jets Offensive Coordinator Position
7 years agoWith the New York Jets firing offensive coordinator John Morton on Wednesday, former Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley and Jets quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates are two potential replacements. Bates would make sense from a continuity standpoint and the fact that journeyman quarterback Josh McCown played well for the Jets in 2017 before his late-season injury. Haley had a falling out in Pittsburgh and clashed with Ben Roethlisberger, but he'd bring a wealth of experience and be more of a high-profile signing. Either way, Gang Green's next offensive coordinator probably won't have much to work with at QB again, as McCown could return for another bridge year while the Jets try to figure out the position long term.
