Falcons Looking To Extend Matt Ryan
7 years agoAtlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said the main focus of the offseason will be to work out a contract extension for quarterback Matt Ryan. Ryan had high expectations coming off his 2016 MVP campaign, and he fell drastically short in 2017 with just 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian's first year. The 20 touchdowns were Ryan's fewest in a season since his rookie year in 2008. With most of Atlanta's offensive weapons due back next season, including elite wideout Julio Jones, Ryan should be able to bounce back in 2018, but his high-water mark in 2016 is unlikely to be repeated.
