Leonard Fournette's Quiet Second Half Stifles Jaguars Offense
7 years agoJacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown as the Jaguars lost to the Patriots 24-20. Fournette got off to a great start, rumbling over Patriots defenders for a punishing four-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. But the Patriots defense tightened up and Fournette averaged only 3.2 yards per carry in the game. Fournette enjoyed a successful rookie season, rushing for 1,040 yards and 10 total touchdowns, but he certainly put up some duds this season while also fighting some nagging injuries and team-discipline issues. He averaged less than 3.5 yards per carry in eight of his 16 games (including playoffs) this season but is poised to elevate his game in his second year. Fournette heads into the offseason as an early candidate for top-five running back status in fantasy.
