7 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Michael Fulmer (elbow) and designated hitter Victor Martinez (heart) are expected to be at full strength for spring training. Fulmer had elbow surgery in September and Martinez had a surgical procedure to fix an irregular heartbeat around the same time. "He's thrown out to 180 feet with no restrictions and no setbacks, so right now he's on track to be 100 percent coming into spring training,'' general manager Avila said of Fulmer. Fulmer went 10-12 with a 3.83 ERA after winning the Rookie of the Year award in 2016, while V-Mart hit just .255 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI in 2017. Depending on how Fulmer looks early in the year, he could be a steal for fantasy owners and rebound with his impressive combination of velocity and control. Martinez is nearing the end of his career and is seeing his skills erode at the dish, especially his power numbers. He's not very attractive on top of it with only designated hitter eligibility.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
