7 years agoNew England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be the Eagles toughest defensive assignment for this Sunday's Super Bowl. The Eagles allowed the 14th fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends during the regular season, but they have rarely faced the caliber of tight end that is Gronk this season. Philadelphia was burned on the opening drive by the Vikings' Kyle Rudolph for a score in the NFC Championship game, and the Chiefs' Travis Kelce caught eight passes for 103 yards and a touchdown against them in Week 2 of the regular season. Now that Gronkowski is expected to play, he becomes the opposition's most pressing concern in the passing game. The Patriots could utilize him conservatively in the first half, but all bets are off if the game stays close in the latter stages of the game.
