7 years agoMLB.com is reporting that the Chicago Cubs are in the best position to land free-agent starting pitcher Yu Darvish. Among the teams still in on Darvish, aside from the Cubs, are the Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and Minnesota Twins. Darvish has been rumored to be holding out hope that the Dodgers or Yankees can clear space to add him, but at this time it does not appear that is going to happen. The Cubs would be able to offer Darvish both a winning culture and big market and should have no issue outbidding the Brewers or Twins, who are considered strong suitors for his services. It is also being reported that he has a number of five-year offers on the table. The free-agent market has been unusually slow this year and no deal is imminent.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
