7 years agoKansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston will not be among those being released this offseason, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Houston has just 21 total sacks in three seasons since he accumulated 22 in 2014, but he's still one of the best defenders on the team. He'll command a base salary of $14.75 million in 2018 with a salary cap number of $20.6 million. The Chiefs would be left with $12.7 million in dead money if he were to be traded or released.
