Albert Pujols Looking Leaner
7 years agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols said he lost 12 to 15 pounds in the offseason, and he's looking lean and strong. He's looking forward to playing more first base in 2018. Pujols managed to hit 23 home runs and drive in 101 runs, but the Machine will turn 38 years old this year and is a shell of his former self at the plate and everywhere else. He doesn't walk as much, strikes out more and can't run due to various foot injuries in recent seasons. It's great that he's in better shape right now, but the Angels will likely limit him in the field as much as possible throughout the season in order to keep him healthy. He also won't have first base eligibility in 2018, limiting his fantasy appeal even more.
