BALLER MOVE: Target ~185
CURRENT ADP: 259
ANALYSIS: Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis had a forgettable 2017, batting just .232/.291/.414 with 12 home runs and 35 RBI in 90 games. Kipnis' 2017 was riddled with injuries, limiting him to the fewest games played in a season in his career by a significant margin.
He also bounced around from the infield to the outfield. At the beginning of this offseason, rumors swirled that Kipnis would be an option in left field if Michael Brantley (ankle) is not ready for Opening Day, but more recent reports have stated that the Tribe wants Kipnis to stay put at second base this season.
Coming off 2015 and 2016 seasons of 124 and 116 wRC+, Kipnis is a good bet to rebound from his 2017 number of 82 as long as he can stay healthy. He could be a steal in later rounds of fantasy drafts this spring, especially if he can earn outfield eligibility as well. Kipnis will be extremely underrated going into drafts, but will still get the opportunity to hit near the top of a strong Indians lineup. He also has been a star in Spring Training, hitting four home runs thus far, showing that he still has plenty in the tank.
