Dominic Smith’s MRI Comes Back Clean
7 years agoWhile New York Mets first baseman Dominic Smith (quadriceps) may have other things to worry about, but his health doesn’t sound like a big concern on that list. Dealing with a strained right quadriceps, Smith’s MRI came back clean, so it is believed he should be good to go shortly. The bigger problem for Smith is playing time. He’s expected to start the year in Triple-A Las Vegas with the Mets offseason acquisitions of Adrian Gonzalez, and prospect Peter Alonso is quickly rising up the team’s farm system rankings and could give Smith a run for his money sooner rather than later. Smith is still very much the team’s first baseman of the future, but it's looking just a tad murkier than it did a few months ago.
