7 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Marcus Stroman is dealing with shoulder inflammation, and currently doesn’t have a timetable yet for his spring debut. While injuries early in spring training are a normal and often non-worrisome occurrence, starting the year with shoulder inflammation is still not what you want to see. Stroman is coming off his second consecutive 200-inning campaign, pitching to a 3.09 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 164 strikeouts to 62 free passes. Stroman’s likely ERA regression is already built into his late 10th-round ADP (his abnormally high 78.1 percent left-on-base rate definitely played a factor in his shiny number last year), but an injury of this type will be sure to knock that down further a few pegs if he doesn’t get back on the field soon.--John Smith
