7 years agoHouston Astros catcher Max Stassi has hit two home runs in his first seven spring training at-bats. The 26-year-old backstop currently is behind veteran Brian McCann and the talented Juan Centeno right now in the Astros major league pecking order, but a strong spring could put himself in position to see some major league at-bats at some point this season. Stassi hit .272 with 14 home runs, 37 runs batted in and slugged .500 in the Astros minor league system last season. Stassi has had several cups of coffee with the big league club over the past five seasons, and any injury could find him up and playing at some point this season. A solid spring training can only help Stassi stay in the mix, even though he is a long shot to make the team out of spring training.--Joey C - RotoBaller
