Brandon Finnegan Throws Simulated Game
7 years agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Brandon Finnegan (shoulder) threw a simulated game in Goodyear, Ariz., on Thursday. Finnegan made just four starts during the 2017 season, as he dealt with a strained muscle in his left shoulder and later dislocated his non-throwing shoulder in an off-field accident. In the simulated game, Finnegan faced eight batters in two innings, throwing 31 pitches. The Reds have been extremely cautious with their young left-hander as they work toward getting him back on the field this season. Finnegan posted a 1-1 record with a 4.15 ERA over 13 innings of work last season. He will hope to win a rotation spot with the big league club this season.
