Matt Harvey Hits 96 MPH Over Three Scoreless Innings
7 years agoAt one time, the headline that New York Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey threw three scoreless innings might be concerning, as you may have wondered why Harvey threw only three innings. With the last few years Harvey has had, though, it’s a reason for celebration. Harvey was once again solid in his second start of spring training, allowing two hits and a walk with one strikeout across the aforementioned three innings. Also, his velocity was encouraging. His fastball sat between 92 and 95 mph, topping out at 96. Keep in mind the last two seasons his fastball averaged 93.70 and 94.02 mph, respectively. Harvey may not be the Dark Knight of Gotham anymore, but there’s no denying his arrow continues to gradually point upward.
