7 years agoIt appears that Texas Rangers starting pitcher Cole Hamels got his wish, as the Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson reports that the Rangers are unlikely to use a six-man rotation in the upcoming season. There had been chatter that the Rangers were considering the strategy in recent weeks, leading to Hamels' negative comments. It was unlikely that the rotation had enough depth to make such an approach feasible, and it appears that instead they will simply plan to plug a spot starter in when needed. It remains to be seen who this spot starter will be, or even who will be in the regular rotation, but anyone planning on drafting a Rangers starter can rest assured that they will receive a typical schedule.--Sean Scampton
