Brian Dozier, Twins Not Talking Extension
7 years agoThe Minnesota Twins and star second baseman Brian Dozier have not discussed a contract extension. Dozier will earn $9 million this season in what is the final year of his contract. He told the media in late January that he wanted to sign a long-term deal with the Twins but nothing has come of those comments. According to reports, there have been no discussions between the team, Dozier, and his agent. As of now, it appears Dozier will be a free agent following the 2018 season. He stated that he's disappointed in the lack of talks, saying, "I've said I wanted to stay here since forever, but I've really vocalized it the last couple years. But I just don't think it's in their future, from what I've been told. We'll see if anything else shakes out, but I'll leave at it." He should be a hot commodity if he hits the open market following the 2018 season.
