7 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale is scheduled to make his first spring training start on Friday against Miami, according to Christopher Smith of MassLive.com. Sale threw 52 pitches in a controlled minor league game on Sunday and allowed only one hit. This gradual process for building up pitches is all a part of the offseason plan for Sale put together by manager Alex Cora, pitching coach Dana LeVangie and the trainers. "We've all got together and kind of talked about coming up with a formula for longevity and building up," said Sale.
