7 years agoLos Angeles Angels left-hander Tyler Skaggs is working on adding a consistent changeup to his repertoire during spring training. “I can be a two-pitch pitcher, but I can only go so far doing that,” Skaggs said. “I need to make a cognizant effort to throw it, even if I’m not throwing it for a strike." Skaggs gave up two runs in 3 2/3 innings on Thursday, including one after he exited. The left-hander posted a 4.55 ERA with 76 strikeouts in 85 innings last year. Injuries have long hurt the 26-year-old, but he is worth a flyer in AL-only and very deep leagues. If he can stay healthy, he has a chance to post double-digit wins and decent strikeout numbers.--patton
