7 years agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Jose Berrios has pitched 7 1/3 innings without walking a batter this spring. He credits an improved delivery, which has helped him improve his control. Berrios told reporters, “We’re trying to be in line to home plate more and not pull off,” he said. “That’s what I felt today. I feel comfortable. I feel relaxed.” In three starts this spring, Berrios has a 1-0 record, 1.23 ERA, and four strikeouts. Berrios struggled with his control over his first two big league seasons, averaging 3.66 walks per nine innings over 204 innings of work. Berrios has the potential to be a future ace, both in real life and in fantasy. If he has, in fact, improved his control with his new delivery, that could happen as soon as this season.--Matt T - RotoBaller
