7 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Tyson Ross turned in another strong outing on Monday against the Kansas City Royals. In four relief innings, Ross struck out one, allowing a hit and walk apiece. Through 11 innings this spring, Ross has a 3.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and eight strikeouts. Ross, a massive disappointment in 2017 with the Texas Rangers (10 starts, 7.71 ERA), felt he was "behind the eight ball" last spring training while recovering from shoulder surgery. This offseason, Ross was able to undergo a normal strength and conditioning regimen and feels more prepared. In a crowded field of pitchers, Ross and fellow non-roster invite Chris Young may suddenly have a leg up amidst a crop of younger arms. Ross, 30, was an All-Star in 2014 and was a pitcher on the rise prior to injury issues in 2016. If he returns to form and wins a starting gig, his 583 ADP could be a bargain.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
