Gerardo Parra Shows Plate Discipline In Win
7 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Gerardo Parra had a great game against the Diamondbacks on Monday with two walks and a single. Parra is one of the outfielders in the crowded Rockies outfield competing for a spot, and so far in spring training he has looked great. Parra only has one hit in two official at-bats, but easily the most impressive aspect of his spring has been his on-base percentage of .800 with three walks in two games. He will look to continue building off a season in which he averaged a .309 batting average and 71 RBI in 392 at-bats. However, the crowded Rockies outfield could lead to some time splits between players such as Carlos Gonzalez, Raimel Tapia, Ian Desmond and David Dahl, so unless Parra is given everyday time, he should not be owned in shallow leagues.
