7 years agoFree-agent running back Jonathan Stewart is slated to visit with the New York Giants on Tuesday. Stewart, who was released by the Panthers after 10 years of service, has already made a stop in Detroit for a meeting with the Lions. The veteran was semi-productive last season despite his lengthy tenure in the league and playing second fiddle to running back Christian McCaffrey, recording 680 yards and six touchdowns on 198 attempts. He also had a receiving touchdown but did have some issues holding on to the ball, finishing the year with three fumbles, tying him for third worst in the league. With running backs Orleans Darkwa and Shane Vereen being unrestricted free agents and Paul Perkins’ shoddy play last season, the team definitely has a void left to fill.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
