Jake Odorizzi Skipping Tuesday's Start For Rest
7 years agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Jake Odorizzi will skip Tuesday's start. He told reporters that there is no injury and that he is just taking the day off for maintenance. He continued to state that he's "Just being smart." Odorizzi will throw a bullpen session on Thursday before he makes his next start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. He will go five innings or throw 75 pitches against Philadelphia, whichever comes first. Odorizzi, who the Twins acquired from Tampa Bay this offseason, is coming off a 2017 campaign which saw him post a 10-8 record, 4.14 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 143 1/3 innings of work.
