Bud Black Isn't Concerned About Ian Desmond's Wretched Spring Training
7 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder and first baseman Ian Desmond struck out three times in three plate appearances in the 8-7 win against the Seattle Mariners. Concerns are beginning to become legitimate with Desmond's awful spring training, as he's now currently at a .071 batting average (2-for-28) and also has 14 strikeouts. However, Rockies manager Bud Black doesn't seem to be concerned, as he was quoted saying, "It's spring training" when asked about Desmond. Despite the lack of concern from Black, Ryan McMahon has been having a fantastic spring training and could cost the assumed job of first base for Desmond. If McMahon remains on the team, Desmond will most likely be splitting time between left field and first base for the season.
