Lions, LeGarrette Blount Agree to Deal
7 years agoThe Detroit Lions have come to terms with free-agent running back LeGarrette Blount on a one-year, $4.5 million contract. New head coach Matt Patricia is known to be a big Blount fan, and the two worked together when Blount was on the Patriots. Blount followed up his 18-touchdown 2016 season with just two touchdowns last season. However, he represents an upgrade to Detroit's struggling running game. With a poor offensive line and a pass-heavy offense, however, Blount's value takes a hit in the Motor City. Consider him an RB3 for now. Theo Riddick may still be the preferred passing back, but Ameer Abdullah will likely be hurt the most by this move.
