Twins Set Rotation: Jake Odorizzi To Start Opening Day
7 years agoThe Minnesota Twins have tabbed right-hander Jake Odorizzi as their Opening Day starter. Odorizzi, formerly of the Tampa Bay Rays, came to Minnesota in an off-season trade and has posted a 2-0 record, 0.87 ERA, and four strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings of work this spring. The Twins will round out their starting rotation with Kyle Gibson, Jose Berrios, and Lance Lynn. They will open the season with a four-man rotation and are not expected to need a fifth starter until April 11. Phil Hughes, who will open the season in the bullpen, will be a candidate to take the mound as the team's fifth starter when needed. Odorizzi will square off on the road against the Baltimore Orioles in his Twins debut
