7 years agoTexas Rangers' Rule 5 pick Carlos Tocci has been told he has made the Opening Day roster. The 22-year old was a Phillies prospect known more for his glove than his bat, but unfortunately not much more. He hit well in Double-A as a 21-year old, but this is where the interest in Tocci's profile begins and ends. The outfielder brings little pop to the table, can run a bit, but ultimately lacks the tools to make much of an impact at the plate. If more power appears, he becomes a little more interesting, but nothing in his history, body, or profile suggest that it is coming. Dynasty leaguers might take a flier on the youngster in hopes that he fills out and learns some new skills from the Rangers' staff, but for 2018 he will serve as a fourth or fifth outfielder.--Sean Scampton
