Jurickson Profar Hitless in Loss
7 years agoTexas Rangers utility infielder Jurickson Profar went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in a spring training loss to the Cleveland Indians. The 25-year-old got the start at third base, and was punched out by the reigning Cy Young winner Corey Kluber. The Rangers appear to be keeping their promise to keep Profar's time in the field limited to the infield where he is more comfortable, and he has improved his batting average to .250 on the spring in response. Profar will never become the superstar he once seemed to be, but there is still a useful utility bat in there. If he can get into a groove and begin to access the power that is hiding inside of his profile, a Marwin Gonzalez-type player is not out of the realm of possibility.
