7 years agoSeattle Mariners left-hander Ariel Miranda enjoyed a solid spring training, posting a 3.60 ERA in 15 preseason innings. The walks (seven) were on the high side, but he managed to strike out 16 batters. Miranda was at times the ace of the Mariners pitching staff last season after injuries completely depleted the group. This season will find him in a more advantageous position of pitching from the fourth spot in the rotation, and another season under his belt could yield some positive dividends. To have success, Miranda will have to cut down on the whopping 37 home runs he gave up in only 29 starts last season. If he can trim that number down, he could take a step forward this season.--Joey C - RotoBaller
