Corey Dickerson Batting In Heart Of Pirates Lineup On Opening Day
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Corey Dickerson will bat fifth for the Pirates on Opening Day against starter Jordan Zimmermann and the Detroit Tigers. He's also expected to bat leadoff at times this year, though his power and low walk rate leave him better suited for the middle of the order. Dickerson was the team's biggest acquisition in a busy offseason after he was designated for assignment by the Tampa Bay Rays in February. The 2017 All-Star batted .282/.325/.490 with a career-best 27 home runs and 62 RBI last season, though he slumped badly in the second half. Regardless, Dickerson is a career .280/.325/.504 hitter with pop, making him a solid fantasy outfielder despite his streakiness.
