7 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Ben Gamel (oblique) will begin the season on the disabled list, per MLB.com. Gamel has been swinging off a tee trying to rehab an oblique injury and the team will bring him along cautiously. Gamel came on last season and put up decent numbers, hitting .275 with five triples, 11 home runs, 27 doubles and 59 runs batted in. Gamel enjoyed an excellent two months last season, hitting .316 in May and .393 in June. But he really tailed off to end the season and will have to cut down on the 122 strikeouts he put up last season. When he returns, Gamel will be apart of the outfield rotation but should garner lukewarm fantasy interest at best.--Joey C - RotoBaller
