Homer Bailey Sharp In Opener
7 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Homer Bailey was sharp in his team's home opener start on Friday against the Washington Nationals. Bailey pitched six innings of one-run ball, allowing just four hits and striking out three. He wound up the tough-luck loser as the Nationals went on to beat the Reds 2-0. Despite picking up the loss, it was an encouraging sign for Bailey, who struggled with his consistency in 2017. He isn't a must-add off of waivers but he should at least be on your radar going forward. Bailey will take the mound against the Pittsburgh Pirates in his next start.
