Eric Thames Goes Hitless In Leadoff Spot
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames went 0-for-3 with two walks and two runs in the 7-3 win over the San Diego Padres. Thames sat out the first two games as Ryan Braun is starting at 1B this year against lefties, which Clayton Richard and Joey Lucchesi both throw. Thames surprisingly hit in the leadoff spot, and despite not getting a hit, did a good job getting on base with two walks. Thames will only bat regularly against right-handed pitching, so he should only be owned in deeper formats for those in need of a power hitter.
