Miguel Sano Blasts First-Inning Homer Saturday
7 years agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano mashed his first homer of the year on Saturday, a solo shot off of Baltimore Orioles starter Andrew Cashner in the first inning. Sano wound up going 1-for-4 on the day with two RBI as the Twins downed Baltimore 6-2. The homer was Sano's first hit of the season as he attempts to prove he's fully healthy after offseason surgery to have a titanium rod inserted into his left lower leg. As long as Sano can stay on the field, he should be an excellent source of power in fantasy leagues. He will take his cuts against Orioles right-hander Kevin Gausman on Sunday in a favorable matchup for right-handed power hitters. Gausman has allowed opposing right-handed bats to ring up a .188 ISO since the 2015 season.
