7 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger tossed a solid 5 1/3 innings on Monday, allowing no runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five. Clevinger made some of the best Angels hitters look silly, including a three-pitch (all fastballs) strikeout of Mike Trout. Clevinger was lifted in the sixth inning after tossing 97 pitches on the night -- 65 for strikes. He wasn't a lock for the rotation coming into spring training, but he should be able to show that he's worth keeping as a starter before the Cleveland rotation needs to be mixed up for returning injured players. Clevinger has some deep mixed league value already and should improve as the season goes on.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
