ANALYSIS: While Dexter Fowler has gotten off to a slow start in 2018, going 3-for-23 with seven strikeouts and a walk, fantasy owners should not be alarmed as this is normal for Fowler. In three of the last four seasons, Fowler has had a batting average below .250 with a strikeout rate of 23 percent or more over the first two weeks of the season.

Despite the slow starts, he has been able to average 14 HR and 13 stolen bases with a .265 batting average over the last four years. Fowler has been hitting the ball harder while hitting fewer ground balls in each of the last four seasons and there's no reason that trend won't continue in 2018. The time is now to add Fowler while other owners overreact to his poor start. He's available in nearly half of Yahoo leagues, so there's a decent chance you can grab a solid OF3 for free early in the season.
