Michael Conforto Is Officially Back
7 years agoThe New York Mets have activated outfielder Michael Conforto (shoulder) from the 10-day disabled list. It’s a stunningly quick return for Conforto, who had been projected to be out until at least early May after undergoing shoulder surgery last summer. Conforto is coming off a massive breakout of a season in 2017, when he slashed .279/.384/.555 (.939 OPS) with 27 home runs, 72 runs scored, 68 RBI and two stolen bases across 109 games (440 plate appearances). Given the way Conforto was tearing the cover off baseballs this spring, it’s not unreasonable to think he steps in as a major contributor right away despite the significance of his injury. As long as he’s in the Mets lineup, he needs to be in yours.
