Mike Zunino's Return Pushed Back
7 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino's (oblique) return to the lineup has been pushed back, per MLB.com. Manager Scott Servais told reporters that the team has decided to be "cautious" in bringing Zunino along. The veteran catcher has been dealing with a sore oblique muscle and had begun to catch some simulated innings and swing in the cage. Whether he suffered a setback is anybody's guess, but he will not be back in the lineup this weekend as previously reported. Oblique injuries can rob a hitter of all of his power, so the Mariners want Zunino 100 percent before he returns to the lineup. Zunino hit 25 home runs last season.
