Homer Bailey Ineffective Against Pirates Thursday
7 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Homer Bailey struggled through his second start of the season, allowing the Pittsburgh Pirates to score five runs (four earned) in 4 2/3 innings of work. Bailey scattered seven hits while striking out two and walking three in the game. Bailey had an excellent start in the season opener but wasn't able to match the effort on Thursday evening. The veteran was extremely up and down in the 2017 season as well, often following a strong start with a poor one. The inconsistency is what makes Bailey tough to trust in fantasy as anything other than a streamer in plus matchups. Bailey now has an 0-2 record, 4.22 ERA and five strikeouts in 10 2/3 innings this season. Up next, he will try his luck against the Philadelphia Phillies.
