Ervin Santana Hoping To Throw Next Week
7 years agoUpdating a previous report, Minnesota Twins right-hander Ervin Santana (finger) is hoping to resume throwing some time in the next week. The veteran pitcher had surgery on his right middle finger on Feb. 6 to remove a calcium deposit and is hoping to be able to progress to throwing soon. Santana is heading to New York next week for a checkup on the digit, where he will hope to get cleared by his doctor. His initial timetable after the injury was 10 to 12 weeks, but it is looking more likely fantasy owners won't see Santana until mid-May at the earliest.
