BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 47% of Yahoo leagues
ANALYSIS: I don’t know about the half of fantasy owners who've left Hernandez sitting on the waiver wire, but I like the idea of adding an everyday leadoff man who’s going to hit .290 and swipe 20 bases. Don’t worry about the Phillies’ bevy of young infielders; Hernandez is locked into a starting role. Maikel Franco and Scott Kingery are fighting for that everyday spot at third base while J.P. Crawford continues to be a non-factor at the plate.
I’d advise scooping up Hernandez as soon as possible. There’s no chance he’ll be available in more than 40% of leagues after he carries a .300+ BA into May. He’s only 27-years-old, so this should be the year he really takes off. Hernandez is the seventh-best second baseman in the league and a fantasy asset in all formats.
