Eric Thames Goes Deep In Win
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames went 1-for-4 with a run, two RBI's, and a home run in the 5-4 win over the Chicago Cubs. This was Thames' second home run of the season, with his first one coming just four days ago. Thames is now hitting .294 in the month of April and has totaled five hits and four RBI's during that span. When the whole team is healthy, Thames is only expected to platoon at first base against lefties with Ryan Braun, however, with Christian Yelich out with an injury, this opens up a spot for temporary everyday duties at first while Braun mans left field. If Thames keeps playing like this, Counsell might be forced to give Thames more time, but keep an eye on the Brewers lineup card and Yelich's injury if you are an owner.
