7 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher and designated hitter Shohei Ohtani is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Texas Rangers. The tentative plan for Ohtani is to not have him hit the day before or after he pitches, so it is no surprise that he is not in Monday's lineup. Ohtani has already blasted three home runs this year and is beginning to look like the true two-way superstar many envisioned. He should be carefully monitored as a hitter going forward, as he will likely only start a few games a week. Justin Upton will DH in his absence, with Ryan Schimpf picking up a start in left field.--patton
